When the tragic and unexpected death of Bowie occurred January the 10:th this year it was kind of unbearing since it occurred under one of the worst circumstances in a long time! I had a bad time, it was like a period of just black, I had no actual flow or inspiration, and just when everything seemed bad enough; *jinx* one of the greatest artist in the music industry dies, not only that but an artist that have given me a lot of angles to work with when it comes to fashion and philosophy.
Bowie was a true aristocrat, a work of art and a freak of nature (positively speaking).
But however bad the situation looked, his death gave me a lot to think about, a lot that made me get together my inner creativity and actually started work on concepts again, and my first concept I actually managed to finnish was the Bowie tribute session, to his honor.
That's like the least I could do to pay my respect since I didn't get the chance to greet him in real life!
Now about the session,
I wanted to highlight this session with sort of....everything Bowie focusing!
Which was impossible, so instead I went for my favorite art method; Symbolism.
I wanted to symbolize Bowie in 3 possible ways, and my choice of highlights became;
Debut
Legacy
Death
These 3 would emerge into one piece eventually, step by step.
So first off "Aladdin Sane"

This was simple enough, but now I wanted to tone it down and make it more grey and melancholic.

The more the character turned older and dustier the more gritty and dead the character becomes, and therefor Aladdin Sane emerged into the Blackstar!

A "simple" but dedicated project that went from sorrow to inspiration within the same moment.
I call it (as basic as it gets): "Aladdin Sane - The Blackstar"
Inspiration is taken from Bowies debut album cover "Aladdin Sane" and the character representing death in his recent music videos "Blackstar" & "Lazarus".
